Number 8 – InquisitiveĬoming in at number 8 we have another subclass with an interesting premise but a more niche skillset: the Inquisitive. However, this subclass just doesn’t quite keep the pace as the other options otherwise. In a campaign that focuses heavily on intrigue, this could be a very strong pick with lots of opportunity.
While the ability to use the Help action as a bonus action and at a greater range is useful, it’s not quite as useful as the many other options available to Rogues of other archetypes. Unfortunately, the Mastermind finds itself at the bottom of our ranking. They weave webs of intrigue wherever they go and always keep their enemies (and sometimes friends) guessing. These cunning characters focus on manipulating others both in and out of combat. Infiltration, disguise, and intrigue are the Mastermind Rogue’s area of expertise.
